Armistead & Boom Boom, 1984 — Armistead Maupin meets Sister Boom Boom on Castro Street. I introduced them to each other and it was a joyous convergence of two celebrities. Armistead has sold millions of books and produced a row of films, with stories that inspired multitudes to move to San Francisco and come out of the closet. Sister Boom Boom ran for City Supervisor.
