Castro Street Fair, 1974 — This couple was looking at my photographs in Harvey Milk’s camera store window, and Harvey invited them inside to get acquainted. They met me and we dated for a couple months. I had hoped that when white gay men started to move into the Castro that they would merge with the Latinos to open gay bodegas.
