11/27/1978 – Candlelight March that spontaneously broke out from the Castro to City Hall after the assassination of San Francisco mayor George Moscone and city supervisor Harvey Milk. The Candlelight March in memory of George Moscone and Harvey Milk has been repeated every year since this historic first march.
